Mean Arterial Pressure

Mean Arterial Pressure(MAP) is often used by clinicians as an important target for titration of therapies in many organ-specific or systemic illnesses.

Normal MAP BP
The mean arterial pressure of normal adults is usually at least 60 mm Hg to ensure enough blood flow to vital organs, such as the brain, heart, and kidneys. In general, the normal MAP range should be between 70 and 100
mmHg.

MAP formula
The MAP can be estimated by using a formula in which the diastolic blood pressure (DBP) is doubled and added to the systolic blood pressure (SBP) and that composite sum then is divided by 3 to estimate MAP.
