Iduapriem Gold Mine

The Iduapriem Gold Mine is an open-pit gold mine situated 10 km south of Tarkwa, in the Western Region of Ghana in West Africa.Iduapriem is an open-pit mine and its processing facilities include a carbon-in-leach plant. In 2011, the mine produced 199,000 oz gold. Work is planned in 2012 to determine if there is an economic resource sufficient to support underground mining. The Obuasi Gold Mine is an open-pit and underground gold mine situated near Obuasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The Obuasi Gold Project is located within the Obuasi Mining District.Although no open-pit mining has taken place at Obuasi since 2005, three pits still contain a Mineral Resource. Underground mining operations have produced 313,000 ounces of gold in 2011.
