Yatela Mine
The Yatela Mine is an open-pit gold mine situated near Yatela, 25 km north of Sadiola, in the Kayes Region of Mali. It is a single-pit operation. Commencing operation in 2001.Mining in this region of Mali, according to old workings, dates back at least 1,000 years and written records confirm that small scale mining was carried out there for most of the past 300 years. From 1987 onwards, the government of Mali carried out exploration activities in the area. The Camino Rojo mine is one of the largest silver-gold mines in Mexico and in the world. The mine is located in the center of the country in Zacatecas. It was discovered in 2007 by two Canplats geologists. The mine has estimated reserves of 1.63 million oz of gold and 32.07 million oz of silver. | Dolores mine
The Dolores mine is located in the Municipality of Madera, about 94 km by road southwest of the town of Madera, and 250 km west of the city of Chihuahua, Mexico.Mining in the Dolores region started in the 1800s. Mechanized production occurred between 1915 and 1929, with no records of any production since that time. Incomplete mining records from 1922 to 1931 indicate that total production during this time was 117,000 ounces of gold and 6.7 million ounces of silver. The district then remained idle until 1993.
